Hill And Bill Need To Chill

In this critical time of our nation's history, the last thing we need is a divided Democratic Party. Personal ambitions need to be put aside for the good of the country. We will never have the CHANGE that is so desparately needed unless Barack and Hillary can kiss and make up. OK, they don't have to kiss, but they must behave as a team with the purpose of defeating John McCain.
It is not rocket science! If the Democratic Party can not be healed, then the country will be subject to a return of the failed policies of the Bush administration. There is a golden opportunity here that will be lost if the Clinton's and Obama's continue fighting and possibly destroying their shared primary objective to heal the country and restore it's image around the world.

Clinton and Obama or Obama and Clinton could be a powerfull force for CHANGE. Sacrifices need to be made! Personal ambition must take a back seat for the good of the country. "Now is the time for all good men and women to come to the aid of their party".

Getting There

An Underdog in The Realm of Time
So Far It's Been A Real Hard Climb
My Eyes Are Open For The Chance
For Good Things In This World Enhance
A Reason For Myself To Stay
A Witness To A Better Day
I Still Believe My Time Will Come
A Gentle Season In The Sun
With Patience As The Rule Of Thumb
I Am No Longer On The Run

Sheets of Shame (Child of The Bed)

His Wings Are Clipped
He's Searching Through
Sheets of Shame
Tournniquet Around His Head
Waking Watchfull Eyes
Remember What The Children Said
Tigers in His Bed
I See Bullets in His Brain
Wading Through
A Waterfall of Stifling Pain
Conjuring a Sensual Theme
Soundless Thoughts in a Deafening Scream
In a Sickly Shroud of Bleak Surprise
All of Us Must Close Our Eyes
Sit and Scratch The Pain Away

Crying in The Distance
An Old Man Shouting To Be Heard
Answers Flying Through The Air
On Wings of Death
Bitter Pills, Throbbing Sores
Searching Endless Chores
His Wings Are Clipped
He's Searching Through
Sheets of Shame

Flim Flam Man

Suffering in Quiet Consciousness
As His Mind Carried On
Taking Him From Place to Place
Changing In A Soft Rhythmic Grace
His Life is Really Quite Secure
This Flim Flam Man
His Thoughts Are Pure
The Images He Sees
In Another Life He Will Conceive
These Daydreams Soon To Come Alive
The Food For Which He Will Survive
To Conquer In An Off Beat Way
The Dreams He Sees
The Games To Play
He's A Winner, Yet He Doesn't Know
The Trophies Aren't There To Show

And Now No Longer Is The Need
To Give Displays Or Remedies
The Sound Of A Voice That Falls On Deaf Ears
Those Wasted Words That No One Hears
The Only One Who Needs To Know
The Author Of This One Man Show
And Now No Longer Is The Cause
To Hunger For Their Brief Applause

Is The Republican Party Doomed?

The answer is a qualified yes. The ultra right wing of the party or the religious right, comprised of mostly "born again Christians" has ruined the Republican Party. The party is bought and paid for by these people. If a Republican candidate is not pro-life, then his or her chances of being elected to a high office is greatly reduced.

What happened to the separation of chuch and state? Religious freedom is the freedom to worship as you choose. It also includes the freedom to be an Atheist if you choose to not worship. What are the chances of an Atheist or Agnostic becoming president? Zero to none I think.

After the complete disaster of the George W. Bush presidency, I can't believe a Republican will be able to get elected for quite some time. This is good for the Democrats or even Mickey Mouse if he chooses to run. The pendulum is finally going to drift to the left where it belongs. Maybe we will have a chance re-join the ranks of the civilized world? No more starting wars under false pretenses! Is this wishfull thinking on my part?

HOW DO WE DEFINE OURSELVES?

In our politcal system we have labels that define us. Republicans, Democrats, Liberals and Conservatives. I wonder if we could ever have a politcal party that was exclusively devoted to solving problems.
We often hear the phrase "conditions on the ground", referring to the War in Iraq. We will pull troops out when "conditions on the ground" permit. What about "conditions on the ground" right here at home. Our house needs repair badly and nobody is fixing it.
We can only make progress if our elected officials are responsive to the needs of the people. This should be the number 1 priority, instead of a strict adherence to party ideology.
How about a new 3rd party? The Independent Progessive Populist Party

NATURE'S PLEA

It Is Our Duty In Due Haste
To Beckon All Our Senses Now
To Hold On To That Which Shall
As The Present Time Has Shown
Portray Itself As Scarce
And In Finality Unknown
Upon The Breath Of Some Omnipotent Deity
Lies The Undiscovered, Unmolested, Untouched
And Undigested Truth Of Nature
Let Us Curse The Time
That Furnishes The Tool
For Man's Corruptive Force
The Truth Of Natures Gift To Man
Must Hopefully Remain Profound
And Live Throughout Eternity
If A Question Stirs A Human Mind
And Entails A Threat To Natures Plea
Remember Her Awesome Threat To Man
And May She Damn Our Security

My Wife Thinks I Should Be More Controversial

I believe this country has moved waaaaaaaaaay to far to the right politically.
On second thought, maybe that is not so controversial. When will our politicians stop pandering? How and why is LIBERAL a dirty word?
